Council Silent On Petition

At the full Council meeting on June 8th 2016 a Petition was presented to Wingecarribee Shire Council asking for a public meeting and some genuine consultation with all householders in Robertson in relation to a $20,000 grant that has been allocated to the village. At the meeting a motion – reproduced below – was Carried. To date, we are unaware of it being acted upon. If anyone has been “counselled and given the necessary guidance” please either post a comment or email this site directly.

MOTION moved by Clr J Uliana and seconded by Clr T D Gair

1. THAT Petition 04/2016 – Our Village Our Future – Ratepayer Opposition to the Robertson “Information Kiosk” – be received and the content of this report be noted.

2. THAT Council write to the signatories to the Petition suggesting that the signatories meet with Council in an informal information session to discuss Our Village Our Future and the vision of the community group in relation to the building of the Information Kiosk, which Council supports. PASSED

  • We understand that the $20,000 has already been paid to the Robertson Shed Inc – a private shell company with somewhere between 6 and 10 members. We are happy to be corrected if we receive evidence tha shows this to be factually incorrect – email or comment with sources, Ta!

Update: Letters have started to arrive inviting concerned residents to a meeting at 5:30pm on Tuesday August 2nd to be held at the Robertson School of Arts. NB: This may be too late as the ‘community representatives’ will have already met the people they gave $1,000 each to bid for the contract, but who knows sense may yet prevail…
